About Us

At our firm, we have only the client in mind.

In 2021, I had so much to be thankful for. Professionally, I was developing and delivering financial planning and wealth strategies for high and ultra-high-net-worth clients at a regional firm. With over 25 years of experience, I had grown from an analyst-entry level role to a director-leadership role. I held advanced degrees in financial planning, was credentialed, respected by my peers, and compensated well for my financial expertise. But I did not always possess a high level of financial knowledge.

As a kid, I grew up in a middle-class home that instilled a hard work ethic and service to others, but we rarely talked about money. We were like most people I knew—living paycheck to paycheck. We had what what we needed, but there was a scarcity mindset, and I heard sayings like “money don’t grow on trees” and “we don’t have the money.”

When I went to college, I learned there was another world where families had generational wealth-wealth passed down from previous generations.  I began to think this was missing from the mainstream African American experience.

I was so fascinated by this idea that a few years after graduation, I developed and delivered a monthly financial presentation combining faith-based stewardship principles with financial strategy to 30-50 individuals through a church-based program. As I was giving one of these presentations, it became clear that financial stewardship would be connected to my mission. Over twenty-five years later, the methods have changed, but the mission has not.

Today, Golden Gift Wealth Management, LLC is proudly working with clients in a way that fulfills the mission. We seek to give confidence to individuals and families on their way to financial freedom and to provide clarity on passing values and wealth to the next generation.
